This page explains the kinds of support we provide and the ways those sessions can be funded. If you already know which pathway applies to you, you can go straight to the relevant page. If you are not sure, read through the streams below and start with the one that fits your situation. Telehealth Psychology Australia provides individual psychology sessions by secure video, Australia-wide. We do not provide in-person appointments.

Individual therapy, delivered by telehealth

The kinds of support we provide, how sessions are delivered, and how the practical side is handled.

  • Individual therapy: one to one sessions with a Registered Psychologist. Sessions run for approximately 50 minutes (46 to 50 minutes). We work with children and adults.
  • Telehealth delivery: sessions are held by secure video through Halaxy Telehealth. It runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install. Video is provided by Amazon Chime on AWS in Sydney, with AES-256 encryption. Sessions are not recorded.
  • Funding handled: we work across Medicare Better Access, NDIS, WorkCover Queensland, DVA, and private (self-funded) arrangements. Halaxy is our primary billing system.

The therapies we draw on include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills, schema therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and supportive therapy. Where it is useful, we may use validated outcome measures such as the K10, PHQ-9, GAD-7, and DASS-21 to track how things are going. These approaches are supported by clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed research; individual experiences vary.
